Conclusion

In conclusion to the final major project I feel I have conveyed and explored the subject matter extensively. I am most proud of not the illustration itself but the process in which I undertook. I have explored and utilized all my previous skills that I have acquired at Chelsea and feel these have contributed greatly to the project. In terms of time, I have stuck rigorously to my schedule and finished major production within the week allocated for this. In all, the project has been very engaging and has also given me the confidence to explore, delve and discover new tools, traditional tools, communicate with clients and it has also given me the allowance to truly understand the beauty of the creative process.

As I have run to schedule I thought it would be interesting to add further depth and development to the project by creating a 'mock' website for Big Bud. Although he is the owner of Soundtrax records and has a Myspace page, i thought it would be of interest to him to see the possibilities of having his own independent website.

Drop

Today I took a number of different pictures of the backdrop on location. The overall effect was was very dramatic. The lights were red and green which brang the piece together with the golden illustration furthering its relationship to Rasta and Reggae.

Stick'em

A sheet of stickers that can be given at shows or via download to further spread the good word of DJ Big Bud.

Promo Tees made

In order to get a quality and professional finish I worked in collaboration with ' T shirt printing london'. I chose the Gold foil finish on white and black as this was by far the most eye catching and most dazzling. Further updates of the tees shall follow

For an extra promotional idea I felt it would be highly appropriate to create custom tees that also bare the design. these are two rough ideas of what the tees may be like.

CD cover/record Label

Potential Idea for album casing and record label. Suede casing with gold foil imagery for the album cover and Gold and black print on the record.

Backdrop arrives

Today I have received my backdrop with thanks to TNT and I am very impressed with the finish and the overall impact it holds.

Lights, transfers and confirmation

I have just received confirmation of my backdrop delivery and it is due tomorrow! :) Today I experimented with acetate and the interesting effects that can be achieved with dispersed light. I also created a transfer onto wood with the use of Acetone being rubbed on the reverse of the print.

Material (pvc) / Scale (6x6ft)

As the backdrop shall be used on a frequent basis, it has to withstand being moved, folded etc. So, I have decided to use a material that will withstand such abuse and that is pvc.

I Luv Gold

After the lino experiments I was drawn towards the work of Sagmeister. The delicacy within the detail is heavily enticing and I felt to try my hand at such a manner of absent space printing. And plus, what better colour represents a veteran and royalty of drum and bass?
